Agent that produces the UI-SPEC.md design contract for frontend phases. Reads upstream artefacts, detects design system state, and asks only unanswered questions. Invoked by the /gsd-ui-phase orchestrator.
Strengths
- Automatically detects the state of the existing design system before speccing the feature

Limitations
- Two-step process (research → implementation), adds a step for small UI features
- UI-SPEC.md output can become too prescriptive on projects with fluid design
Best for
- New pages or UI sections with multiple components and states to define
- Features with animation, responsive, or accessibility as explicit constraints
- Teams with an established design system wanting to guarantee consistency of new components
