/voice (Dictée vocale)
Push-to-talk speech input for Claude Code prompts. Hold the activation key (rebindable), speak, release, text is transcribed and sent to Claude. Supports 20 languages. Particularly useful for long prompts or detailed bug descriptions where typing is slower than speaking.
Strengths
- Richer prompts, speaking is often more natural and detailed than typing under pressure
- Zero configuration, natively available, key rebindable in one command
- 20 languages supported, works in French, English, and many others without extra setup
Limitations
- Input only, does not read responses aloud, one-way
- Requires quality microphone in noisy environment, degraded transcription in open office
Best for
- Long bug or feature descriptions where typing the full context would take several minutes
- Brainstorming sessions with Claude where oral fluidity is more productive than typing
