Strengths
- Direct design token extraction from Figma, colors, typography, spacing without copy-paste
- Reduces design→code delta: Claude sees exact specs instead of guessing them
Limitations
- Requires a Figma API token and file access, initial setup needed
- Partial coverage of complex components (variants, modes), validate case by case
Best for
- Rapid prototyping where Claude needs to respect tokens from the existing Figma design system
- Friction-free design→dev handoff: the developer gives specs to Claude via the MCP
