Beacon
Open source memory layer (MIT licence, Asymptote Labs) shared across coding agents. Beacon records on your machine the session history of more than twenty tools, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode and Cline: prompts, responses, tool calls, commands, touched files, approvals. It pulls corrections and working patterns out of it, you review and approve them, then they flow back to the next agents as skills or through MCP. JSONL storage on your machine if you pick the local option at install, installers for macOS, Linux and Windows.

Limitations
- Records prompts, responses and commands in plain text: a secret typed once stays in the file
- Interactive setup signs in through beacon.sh and preselects forwarding to the hosted service: you have to pick Local yourself
- Young project, around 1,600 stars as of 27 September 2026, with a paid hosted offer next to the open code
