BAMA (Build Any Mac App)
A set of 21 skills (MIT licence) that teaches an agent to research, clone, design, build and test a native Mac app in Swift and SwiftUI. To clone, the agent captures every screen of an app, writes user stories by milestone and builds one story per commit. The repo also ships 12 build plans for small Mac tools. It runs with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI, on macOS 26 and Xcode 26; cloning a native app needs computer control, reserved for Claude Pro or Max subscriptions according to the README. Seen in [Instagram reel DfLUA5iBbqI](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DfLUA5iBbqI/), where it is presented as the third link of a chain with REA and ArtCraft: understand an app without its code, then rebuild it.
Strengths
- A complete method in 21 skills: brief, plan, code, design, build, tests
- Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI
- One story per commit: the agent’s work can be reviewed step by step
Limitations
- Requires macOS 26 and Xcode 26: unusable on Windows or Linux
- Cloning a native app needs computer control, reserved for Claude Pro or Max according to the README
- Very recent repo: the reel says it is a week old, it shows 1.4k stars on 2 November 2026 (volatile figure)
- “Small paid apps are at risk”: the reel creator’s claim, nothing measures it
Best for
- A developer or designer on Mac who wants a small custom native tool
