Claude Plugins Official (Anthropic registry)
Official Anthropic-maintained registry aggregating first-party Claude Code plugins (skills, commands, hooks, MCP servers). As of September 14, 2026: 39 in-house Anthropic plugins (including claude-code-setup, code-review, skill-creator and code-modernization) and 14 third-party plugins endorsed by organisations (Mercado Libre, UI5, etc.). Regularly updated by the Anthropic team, top authority for bootstrapping a production Claude Code setup. Install via `/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-official` inside Claude Code, then `/plugin install <name>`.
Strengths
- Anthropic authority, no shady fork, plugins vetted by the publisher
- One-liner install from Claude Code via `/plugin marketplace add`
- Regular updates by the team (weekly commits observable, 24 first-party orgs added 2026-05-19)
- Centralized hub of endorsed first-party plugins (beyond Anthropic alone)
Limitations
- Smaller catalog vs community awesome-lists (intentional anti-bloat)
- No search/discovery UI yet, you need to know the plugin name you're after

- Builder who wants a production-grade Claude Code setup without spending 2h arbitrating between 10 community forks
- Team standardizing a Claude Code toolkit who needs a clear authoritative source to point to
