Harvey
An autonomous sales prospecting agent that runs on your Claude Code or Codex subscription, with no API key. It finds businesses in a city (free OpenStreetMap), reads three pages of each site with no model call, spots concrete signals (no online booking, active ads, agency credit in the footer), writes an email that cites what it observed, tracks replies and pushes the conversation toward a meeting. The sales know-how lives in Markdown files you edit. MIT license, Python 3.11+, installed with `git clone` then `harvey train`.
Strengths
- A split that saves the model: finding, reading sites and verifying addresses need no AI call, only the writing goes through your subscription
- Nothing leaves without you by default: email-by-email approval queue, a pause switch, and a pre-send check that does not depend on a model
- The sales skills are readable Markdown files (email frameworks, objection handling, qualification) you edit without touching code
Limitations
- You are the sender: GDPR in Europe, CAN-SPAM in the US, and a main domain burned within days if you send at volume without warming up a dedicated address
- Free OpenStreetMap coverage is thin for trades without a storefront; the video shows restaurants, the case where it works best
- "No API key" means your subscription limits drain faster and the provider usage terms apply: read them before leaving it running around the clock
Best for
- Freelancer or small agency selling a local service (websites, SEO, consulting) who wants to see prospecting built on observed facts rather than an email template
- Anyone wanting to dissect the architecture of an agent that runs in a loop, decides what to do next without a model and keeps a human at the approval step
