Instagram Agent Skill
A pack of thirteen MIT-licensed Claude skills to prepare what you publish on Instagram: `/ig-reel` (one idea into a reel: three hooks drawn from 26 formulas and scored, the script, the on-screen text and a timed beat sheet), `/ig-viral` (the reels working in your niche, ranked by how far they beat their own account's median), `/ig-caption` (the caption checked, showing the 125 characters the feed displays before "... more"), `/ig-carousel`, `/ig-story`, `/ig-profile` (your profile scored out of 100 on a 12-part rubric), `/ig-plan` (the week, and the ten accounts to engage with), `/ig-human`, `/ig-comment`, `/ig-reply` (sorts the thread under your own post into keyword, lead, substance, question, support and noise, then answers in that order), `/ig-dm`, `/ig-repurpose` and `/ig-audit`. Six Python scripts run on your machine, with no network. Every skill reads a voice file you fill in first. Nothing connects to Instagram: the skills write, you post.
Strengths
- `/ig-viral` ranks reels by how far they beat their own account's median, not by raw views
- `/ig-caption` shows the 125 characters the feed displays before "... more" and enforces the five-hashtag cap
- No access to your account, local scripts with no network, free and MIT-licensed
- The author publishes his own measurements, including the ones that go against his tool
Limitations
- The hook score weeds out bad hooks, it does not pick the good one (0.56 against 0.50 for chance, measured by the author)
- Hook formulas standardise the voice: your reel looks like the ones it imitates
- `/ig-viral` assumes you drive your own browser, ten accounts at human speed; without a browsing tool in your session you collect the numbers by hand
- A young project (created 13 September 2026, a few hundred stars) maintained by one person
Best for
- Spotting the reels in your niche that genuinely outperformed, before choosing a format
- Reviewing a caption the way the feed cuts it, before posting
- Auditing your Instagram profile against an explicit rubric
