Simple English
Agent skill published by AminBlg under the MIT licence that makes the model write to ASD-STE100, the Simplified Technical English aerospace has used since 1983 so its maintenance manuals cannot be misread: short sentences, active voice, one word for one meaning, one instruction per sentence. It installs as a skill or a plugin for Claude Code and Codex, and works in any agent that reads the Agent Skills format. The Claude Code plugin adds an output style and a session hook that the bare skill does not install.
Strengths
- A public, stable standard behind the rules, not one author’s taste
- Two registers: readable by anyone by default, strict on request for technical docs
- One folder, no dependencies, MIT licence: nothing to maintain
Limitations
- English only: no effect on French text
- The published numbers count formatting defects, not reader comprehension
Best for
- An English README or API doc read by teams for whom English is a second language
- An on-call runbook, read at three in the morning
- Studying how a written standard plus a checker keep an agent’s style in line
