21st Agents SDK
SDK launched by 21st.dev (March 2026) to deploy production agents with native UI, persistent memory and built-in observability. Beyond component copy-paste: you build a UI-aware agent (pre-wired 21st.dev components), ship with memory + traces, and monitor in prod. Competing approach to Vercel AI SDK + Mastra on the UI side.
Strengths
- Built-in agent-ready UI, no design-from-scratch for the agent frontend
- Native memory + observability, you see what your agent does, not just what it says
- Compatible with the existing 21st Magic MCP, reuse your component catalog
Limitations
- Very young (March 2026), less documented than Vercel AI SDK or Mastra, small community
- Light vendor lock, 21st components coupled to the SDK experience, leaving requires rewriting the UI
- Not open-source, commercial model not yet stabilized, vigilance on long-term viability
Best for
- Builders wanting a user-facing agent with premium UI without a dedicated designer
- Internal DS agent prototypes (audit, drift, patches) that need to be C-level-presentable
