Applitools Eyes
Applitools Eyes 10.22 (January 2026 release) adds a Storybook addon for component-level visual testing and a Figma plugin to compare production screenshots vs Figma designs. The Visual AI engine 'simulates human vision, filters noise', result: 5-10 false positives/sprint vs 50-100 on un-tuned Percy. Pre-test approach (structural UI analysis before pixel-perfect diff) that makes baseline maintenance much cheaper on animated or responsive UIs.
Strengths
- Visual AI massively reduces false positives, 5-10/sprint vs 50-100 on un-tuned pixel-perfect VRT
- Native Storybook addon (10.22), VRT directly on stories, no E2E setup needed
- Figma plugin compares production vs design, detects designer→dev drift without custom scripts
Limitations
- Opaque enterprise pricing (custom quote), more expensive than Chromatic and Percy case-by-case
- Heavier initial setup than Chromatic, no generous free tier for validation
- Visual AI sometimes too tolerant, can ignore a real minor visual bug (tune per feature)
Best for
- Enterprise team (20+ devs) releasing multiple times daily and drowning CI in fake Chromatic diffs
- DS manager wanting one tool for both Storybook (components) and Figma (designs) VRT
