Browser Use
A Python library that lets a language model drive a real browser: open pages, click, type, fill in a form, from a plain-language instruction. MIT licence, Python 3.11 or later (read on the repository on 4 November 2026). A paid cloud offer exists for stealth browsers and the hosted agent. Watch for packages with a similar name (forks): only `browser-use` is the one from the organisation of the same name.
Strengths
- Works on a site with no API: the agent does what a person at the screen would do
- Free library (MIT), installable with uv add browser-use
Limitations
- Slower and less predictable than an API call, and every step costs a model call
- An agent that clicks and fills forms can act on real accounts: watch it, never let it loose on an account that matters without guardrails
- Needs Python: not a tool for someone who does not code
Best for
- Automating a repetitive task on a site that offers no API
