Claude Design

Native Anthropic prompt-to-prototype interface. Launched on 17 April 2026 by Anthropic Labs as a research preview, powered by Opus 4.7. Auto-builds a DS from codebase + design files. Describe a screen in natural language, Claude Design renders HTML/CSS/JS in real time and produces a handoff bundle handed verbatim to Claude Code. Since the week of 17 August 2026, the `/design` skill (Claude Code 2.1.234 or later) brings the same artboard workflow into Claude Code, in the CLI as in the desktop app: several editable variants side by side, you pick one, tweak it, then Claude implements it in your project, with no export or archive to hand over. Since 16 September 2026, Claude Design is also available from any Claude conversation, as Cowork and chat became a single app (rolling out to Pro and Max first, Team and Free next); it remains usable on its own.
