Claude Motion
A Claude feature that builds an animation in code rather than with a video-generation model. You describe what you want (cycling-trip data in 20 seconds, a chart that unrolls), Claude writes the animation as an artifact, then you export it to MP4. Because it is code, changing a word, a number or a pace does not remake the film: the rest stays put. It is in beta and limited to Team and Enterprise plans.
Strengths
- Local edits: a word, a number or a pace changes without redoing the rest of the video
- Nothing to install or code: the request happens in the conversation, the export is an MP4 to drop into a presentation or a Google Doc
- No video model, so no drift from one generation to the next and no bill per failed attempt
Limitations
- Limited to Team and Enterprise plans, in beta; absent from Free, Pro and Max
- Produces no realistic footage or people, and draws on the plan usage limits
- Only one documented export format, MP4: no code you can replay outside Claude
Best for
- Replacing the static chart in a presentation with a few seconds of animation
- A team on a Team or Enterprise plan that wants motion without an editing tool
- Iterating on a data animation where each version differs by a number or a pace
