GitDiagram
Draws the architecture diagram of a GitHub repo: the main blocks, the files that make them up and how they talk to each other, with an explanation streamed as it generates. The move shown in the reel: in a repo URL, replace "hub" with "diagram" (github.com becomes gitdiagram.com). Each block links to its file or folder, the diagram exports as an image or Mermaid code, and a public MCP server lets an agent read these diagrams.
Strengths
- The diagram shows in a minute for a public repo, with nothing to install
- Each block links to its file or folder: you go from diagram to code in one click
- Export as an image or Mermaid code, and an MCP server so an agent can read the diagrams
Limitations
- Diagram generated by a model: it can simplify or get it wrong, cross-check with the code
- A private repo needs a GitHub token and sends the code to a third-party service
Best for
- PM or designer who wants to understand how an open source product is built before talking to a team
- Developer landing on a repo and looking for the entry point
