Pennylane
French accounting and finance software for businesses and their accountants. It centralises invoices, bank transactions and VAT, and since 2026 offers an official MCP server, read-only, that lets an assistant such as Claude read that data with your permissions.
Strengths
- Official MCP server, published by Pennylane: OAuth sign-in with your own credentials, no token to manage
- Read-only to begin with: the assistant cannot edit an entry or file a return
- The assistant gets your permissions, and you pick the exposed tools (invoices, transactions, VAT) at connection time
Limitations
- Paid, and limited to files attached to an accounting firm or to the Essentiel plan: without that, no connector
- You need a Claude plan that accepts custom connectors (Pennylane documents the setup through Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector)
- Your invoices and transactions go through an AI assistant: the compliance of that processing stays your responsibility, as Pennylane itself states
