RetroUI
React and Tailwind component library with a neobrutalist stance baked in: thick borders, hard shadows, sharp corners, unapologetic contrast. Buttons, forms, dialogs, navigation, tables, charts, plus colour themes riding on shadcn variables. The core is free, a catalogue of blocks and templates is paid. A Figma kit mirrors the same components, as a free community edition and a paid one: announced counts range from 150 to over 500 depending on the page and edition, so count the pieces you need, not the total.
Strengths
- The style is decided for you: no more paralysis over colours, radii and shadows
- Built on shadcn variables, so themes swap without rewriting components
- Covers the ordinary (forms, tables, dialogs), not only decorative effects
Limitations
- Non-miscible style: mixed into a quiet interface, it flattens everything else
- Heavy contrast and thick borders do not replace an accessibility check, they just make it easier to assume one happened
- The useful blocks and templates sit behind the paid tier
Best for
- Product with a loud voice (niche tool, launch page, side project) that must stand out from the first screen
- Vibe coder who cannot settle on a visual direction and burns evenings reprompting the style
