RevenueCat
A subscription layer sitting between your mobile app and the Apple and Google stores. You declare your products once in RevenueCat, the service validates purchase receipts, keeps track of who is entitled to what, and hands you a readable subscription state in one line of code, identical on iOS and Android.
Strengths
- A single subscription state for iOS and Android, instead of two implementations that diverge at the first edge case.
- The cases people discover too late are covered by default: restoring a purchase on a new device, trial period, plan change, refund.
- A readable revenue view without wiring an analytics tool: what you collect, what renews and what churns, in one place.
Limitations
- Pricing follows your revenue, not your technical usage. A product that works pays more for exactly the same service, and that line stacks on top of the 15 or 30 percent the store already takes.
- The service does not spare you from declaring your products in App Store Connect and the Google Play console. It reads that catalogue, it does not replace it, and that is where most first-subscription mistakes live.
Best for
- A vibecoded mobile app selling a subscription, where nobody on the team has taken store payments before.
- A product shipped to both stores that wants a single entitlement rule, written once.
