Screens 5
A remote desktop client for iPhone, iPad and Mac: you open another machine full screen on your device, keyboard and pointer included, over VNC. The app handles the remote system shortcuts, a shared clipboard and several saved machines. It also connects through a Tailscale private network, which spares you touching a single router setting.
Strengths
- Covers the one case neither a terminal nor a chat bot can cover: the native window
- Connects through a Tailscale private network, so no network configuration to do
- Remote system shortcuts and a shared clipboard, which makes short interventions actually usable
Limitations
- Paid, for a use that stays occasional by nature
- Too comfortable: it invites you to work from the phone, which will never be its ground
- Apple ecosystem only, so useless if your phone is not one
Best for
- Clearing a two-factor prompt on the machine left at home
- Unsticking a native app waiting on a click the agent cannot give
